Sculptural furniture - Juan Pineda, 1991
Designed for Almerich in 1991, this vertical chest of drawers stands out for its undulating silhouette, which gives it a distinctly sculptural presence. It is crafted from walnut veneer, which is notable for the warmth of the material and the depth of its grain, adding visual richness and nuance to the overall piece.
The front is organized by a rhythmic succession of overlapping drawers, while the side features a continuous, sinuous line that introduces dynamism and breaks the rigidity of the vertical plane. Measuring 48 × 28 × 178 cm, the piece combines functionality and expressive character, positioning itself somewhere between a storage unit and a sculptural object.
